Z-A Poll Picks the Top 25 Pokemon in the Game
A new poll conducted among Pokemon Legends: Z-A players in Japan revealed the 25 most popular critters available in the game, and the fiery Charizard claimed the top spot. The Pokemon Legends: Z-A player poll was mostly dominated by legendary or fully-evolved monsters, so Pokemon series mascot Pikachu did not crack the top 25.
Throughout Pokemon Legends: Z-A, players can rediscover creatures that were originally found in Pokemon X and Y, including the Kalos starter trio of Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie. With the addition of the Mega Dimension DLC, Pokemon not native to Kalos can also be battled and caught, including regional variants of Meowth, Slowpoke, and Mr. Mime. Considering that there are 364 Pokemon that can be caught in Pokemon Legends: Z-A and the Mega Dimension DLC, picking out favorites to utilize throughout the game can be a tall task. However, some Pokemon Legends: Z-A players have identified which ones stood out to them the most.

After 18,345 votes were tallied in a three-day span, the results of a poll titled “Everyone’s Favorite Pokemon 2025” on the site GameWith revealed that Japanese players chose Charizard as their favorite Pokemon featured in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Charizard has been one of the most popular Pokemon since its debut in Pokemon Red and Blue, and the Flame Pokemon received 632 votes in the poll. The poll stated that Pokemon Legends: Z-A players voted based on which ones were their favorite creatures overall, which ones helped them during their playthrough, and which left a lasting impression.
Three Eeveelutions placed in the top 25, with Sylveon, Umbreon, and Glaceon, respectively, taking the 14th, 16th, and 17th spots. The most popular Pokemon Legends: Z-A starter was Meganium, which took 19th place with 217 votes. Although Pokemon series mascot Pikachu did not make it into the top 25, the Mouse Pokemon’s evolution, Raichu, placed 22nd with 201 votes. Feraligatr finished 23rd with 190 votes, and the last spot in the “Everyone’s Favorite Pokemon” top 25 was taken by Mimikyu, who had 176 votes. The next spot outside the top 25 was taken by Excadrill, as they were outranked by 12 votes.
Although there are plenty of Legendary Pokemon to be found in Pokemon Legends: Z-A, the highest-ranked Legendary in the poll was Zygarde, who placed in ninth with 396 votes.
