PS Plus Subscribers Are Running Out of Time to Claim 5 Free Games
PlayStation Plus subscribers have until January 5 to claim the latest batch of free games, which includes five titles instead of the usual three. For the most part, PlayStation Plus subscribers can expect three free games every month, regardless of what tier of the service they’re signed up for. However, there are times when Sony breaks from that pattern and offers bonus free games.
Perhaps in an effort to end the year strong, Sony decided to give PlayStation Plus subscribers five free games in December 2025. The only catch when it comes to any free PS Plus game is that subscribers must be subscribed to the service to access them, but otherwise they can be kept forever. This is in contrast to the PS Plus Extra and Premium games library, which rotate in and out of availability.
With that in mind, PS Plus subscribers should be sure to claim the latest free games while they still can. Until January 5, the free PS Plus games are LEGO Horizon Adventures, Killing Floor 3, The Outlast Trials, Synduality: Echo of Ada, and Neon White. After January 5, these free PS Plus games will be cycled out and replaced by the January 2026 freebies. Those games likely won’t be revealed until Wednesday, December 31, so PS Plus subscribers should stay tuned for more information on that front.
What Are the Free PlayStation Plus Games Right Now?
- Killing Floor 3
- LEGO Horizon Adventures
- Neon White
- Synduality: Echo of Ada
- The Outlast Trials
For those unfamiliar with the latest free PS Plus games, LEGO Horizon Adventures is a co-op action game that retells the story of Horizon Zero Dawn, but in a family-friendly format. It takes a lot of inspiration from TT Games’ LEGO titles, but also does a lot to stand out from those games.
Killing Floor 3, meanwhile, is a co-op FPS where players mow down hordes of horrible monsters. Whereas LEGO Horizon Adventures is a family-friendly game, Killing Floor 3 is anything but, but that’s part of its appeal. It being a free PS Plus game should make it a little easier to organize a group to enjoy its 6-player co-op, as PS Plus subscribers can jump in without actually buying the game outright.
Horror fans will get a kick out of Killing Floor 3, and they will also likely find a lot to like about The Outlast Trials. The Outlast Trials takes the unnerving horror of the Outlast video games and turns it into an intense co-op experience. Sharing the scares with friends is potentially the most fun Outlast has ever been, so PS Plus subscribers shouldn’t pass up the opportunity to add the game to their collection.
Those looking for something a little different will want to be sure to snag Synduality: Echo of Ada. An anime sci-fi extraction shooter, Synduality: Echo of Ada was first released in 2025, which makes its addition to the free PS Plus games lineup that much more exciting. It’s true that Synduality: Echo of Ada earned mixed reviews at the time of its release, but perhaps PS Plus subscribers will be able to appreciate it more since they get to play it for free.
And finally, Neon White is a unique first-person shooter where players have to spend cards to perform actions. This makes each level not only action-packed, but somewhat of a puzzle. Throw in a striking anime art style and an engaging story, and it’s really no surprise that the game earned critical acclaim. It’s the kind of experimental title that is perfect for PS Plus, and subscribers have until January 5 to claim it and the other four games that make up the current batch of freebies.
