ARC Raiders Players Tell Embark to Add This Skin to the Game

By newsgame

Thousands of ARC Raiders fans want Embark Studios to release the high-tech outfit that first appeared in the launch trailer. This is not the first time the ARC Raiders community has rallied around the idea of adding a specific skin, as players previously pushed for the tutorial skin to be included, a request that ultimately worked since the skin is now part of the game.

Embark Studios has proven it is open to feedback and player demands. Previous ARC Raiders patches suggest the development team closely monitors the community, reacting and responding to its ideas or complaints. One clear example is when the studio lowered cosmetic prices after players criticized them for being too expensive. Now, many fans hope the Swedish developer will once again listen and add a specific outfit that has been high on thousands of wish lists since before ARC Raiders‘ global launch.

Players Urge Embark to Add the Launch Trailer Skin to the Game

A couple of days before ARC Raiders‘ successful launch, Embark Studios released a launch trailer that offered a glimpse of a trio of squad members wearing tactical combat suits. Of the three, the one on the left turned out to be the Torpedo skin, which is currently available in the game. The one on the far right, a hooded skin, has recently appeared again in a new cutscene, suggesting it may be added to the game soon. However, the skin in the middle, which features a high-tech helmet with distinctive goggles, has become the holy grail for many players, with growing interest in seeing it added to their outfit collections.

Fans Think the Addition of the Tutorial Skin Could Be a Sign

Before the high-tech launch trailer skin entered the conversation, ARC Raiders‘ tutorial look was one of the most requested cosmetics. Fortunately, Embark Studios did not ignore player demand and added the sought-after Dune-esque skin as part of the first Expedition rewards. Now, many players are hoping a similar situation could play out for the two launch trailer skins, the hooded one and the high-tech helmet variant, and that Embark Studios will eventually add them to the game.

While the helmet-wearing outfit appears to sit at the top of most wish lists, the hooded skin seems the more likely addition, as it was recently teased again in an ARC Raiders Expedition cutscene. The brief clip offered another glimpse of a raider wearing this skin alongside one sporting the Torpedo outfit, watching the player depart Speranza for new adventures.

Possible Reason Why High-Tech Launch Trailer Skin Is Still Missing in the Game

Some ARC Raiders players believe the high-tech outfit shown in the launch trailer has not been added because Embark Studios wants to preserve the game’s scavenger-oriented aesthetic. One player explained, “It feels like they don’t want to lose the pieced-together-from-the-dumpster look because it would affect world-building.” From that perspective, it may not make much sense for survivors who rely on salvaged scraps to suddenly start using sleek, high-tech equipment. The counterargument is that Speranza’s citizens seem to have already back-engineered ARC technology to create gadgets like Shields. As a result, it would not clash with the lore for them to also use ARC machines to craft tactical combat gear similar to what the launch trailer raider is wearing.

Embark Studios Might Be Saving the High-Tech Skin for a Specific Update

Fans know that ARC Raiders‘ lore is still evolving, with Embark Studios planning to expand the story as development continues. This could suggest the studio is holding back high-tech elements, such as the launch trailer skin, for a future major update that introduces a new map or advances the lore in a way that justifies the use of new technologies. It could also be saving these highly sought-after outfits for special occasions, such as the game’s anniversary or another limited-time crossover with THE FINALS.

Judging by how Embark Studios has handled skin releases so far, it seems likely that, like the Torpedo and tutorial skins, the remaining two tactical outfits from the launch trailer will be added at some point. At this stage, it feels like only a matter of time, and fans are hoping the wait for these special skins will not be much longer.
