Best Auradin Build in Diablo 4
The Paladin class in Diablo 4 has a wide variety of abilities, and among those are Auras. They work exactly how you think they do: Aura skills passively do things to you, your allies, or the enemies near you, and thanks to some Legendary Aspects and Unique items, we can turn a Paladin into a walking sun that melts both big hordes and bosses alike.
The following is an Auradin build for Diablo 4 that’s designed for the endgame. It’s not exactly practical to use early on while leveling, and players will need one specific pair of Unique gloves in order to make the build work.
Diablo 4 Herald of Zakarum Drop Location
If you need something to multiply your stats as a Paladin in Diablo 4, then the Herald of Zakarum is one of the best items you can use.
Diablo 4 Auradin Build
The star of this show is the Dawnfire Gloves, which makes the Holy Light Aura deal Fire damage every second to nearby enemies. The rest of the build will make use of Arbiter form, which will give you a set of wings that will passively attack nearby enemies on top of giving you movement buffs.
Active Skills
|
Skill |
Description |
|
Falling Star – Freefall |
Mainly used for mobility and to enter Arbiter form via the Disciple Oath |
|
Consecration – Hallowed Ground |
AoE damage-over-time skill that also heals you. Good for bosses. |
|
Holy Light Aura – Rite of Mercy |
Passively damages enemies. Activate to attack enemies and gain Fortify. |
|
Defiance Aura – Rite of Prayer |
Provides defenses and makes you Unstoppable when activated. |
|
Fanaticism Aura – Rite of Vengeance |
Ramps up your crit stats passively. Weakens nearby enemies when activated. |
|
Arbiter of Justice – Seraph’s Wings |
Leap into the air and crash down, giving you 30 seconds of Arbiter form. |
Since this is an Aura build, all you really need to do is survive. Other Diablo 4 Paladin builds are already easy to play, but with this one, all you need to do is move and avoid death.
Everything in your vicinity will either burn up or get struck by Wing Strikes while you’re in Arbiter form. The big issue here is that you need to have high cooldown reduction on your gear so you can minimize the downtime of Arbiter form.
Use your cooldowns liberally, and avoid any big attacks coming your way. Falling Star will be your main way of getting Arbiter form, and it’s great for jumping around the map too. When you fight a boss, drop Consecration and just run circles around them.
If you want a better uptime on Arbiter form, replace Consecration with Condemn – Gather the Guilty. This gives you two charges of a Disciple skill that’s on a cooldown, which means you can use this on a rotation with Falling Star to keep Arbiter form up for longer periods. If you can get Falling Star’s cooldown to 7 seconds and Condemn’s to 9 seconds, you should be able to alternate between these skills and keep Arbiter form up indefinitely.
Passive Skills
- En Garde
- The Best Offense
- Fortitude
- Crack in the Armor
- High Charity
- Iron Sharpens Iron
- Break the Line
- Heavy Weight
- Shining Armor
- Giant Slayer
- Exaltation/Coat of Arms
To summarize, these skills will increase your damage output and survivability, but in order to take full advantage of them, you need to be Fortified, and your enemies must be Weakened. Your Holy Light and Fanaticism Auras will handle those for you.
As for the Capstone Passive, we actually have two choices:
- Exaltation increases the damage you deal by (x)85% while Arbiter form is active. and your Wing Strikes will strike 1 additional time.
- Coat of Arms massively boosts your overall damage based on 75% of your Armor and Block Chance.
Coat of Arms usually results in a stronger damage bonus that does not require you to meet any sort of condition. However, the effectiveness of this passively heavily relies on your current stats. If your combined Armor and Block Chance fails to multiply your damage by at least 85%, then you’re better off using Exaltation.
On the other hand, Exaltation multiplies your damage by 85%, but only when Arbiter form is active. You’ll be spending a lot of time in Arbiter form with this build, but the uptime of this bonus still depends on how low your cooldowns are and how long you can maintain Arbiter form outside of Arbiter of Justice’s 30-second window.

Dawnfire is the most important part of this build because it lets Holy Light Aura damage all enemies within range instead of just 3 random enemies. Your AoE damage will suffer without it.
Tassets of the Dawning Sky is here to improve survivability. You can freely replace this with any other pair of pants you want, though we prefer this for the convenience of having an armor piece with high elemental resistances.
Meanwhile, Griswold’s Opus will greatly increase your crit damage every time you deal damage. It’s a great weapon for nearly every Paladin build, and that applies here too.
If RNG allows, use your Temper slots for bonuses that improve Arbiter or Holy Light. Tempering your gear is a great way to compensate for any stats you might be lacking (such as cooldown reduction or elemental resistances), but if you’re lucky enough to get good items with essential stats, then you should use your Temper slots for stats that you don’t normally drop on items.
Paragon Boards
The good thing about the Paladin’s Paragon Boards is that the majority of its Legendary Nodes grant general damage boosts that work on most Paladin abilities. Even a Legendary Node that’s specifically meant for Zealot skills can work with Auradin builds.
For this setup, take the following boards and nodes:
- Castle increases your damage based on your total Armor
- Relentless boosts your damage and grants cooldown reduction while moving (and for 2 seconds after)
- Endure increases your damage while Fortified
- Divinity increases the Vulnerable damage you deal while in Arbiter form
- Shield Bearer increases your damage based on your Block Chance
- Preacher increases your damage based on your Attack Speed
You’re free to choose whichever Glyphs you prefer, though we recommend the following:
- Spirit increases the damage enemies take from you when you hit them with a critical strike
- Challenger boosts your damage against Elites
- Canny boosts your Non-Physical Damage
- Resplendence reduces the cooldown of Non-Aura Skills when you cast an Aura Skill
