ARC Raiders Fans Call for a New Feature for Downed Players

By newsgame

ARC Raiders players believe a Battlefield 6-style drag or carry feature for downed players could improve the game’s PvP in several ways, even leading to more interesting interactions. ARC Raiders‘ PvP is already a perfect setting for funny, dramatic, and sometimes even tragic moments, thanks to features like proximity chat and the Defibrillator. However, many players are convinced that a carry feature could add even more drama to the experience.

Since the game’s launch, its community has been actively coming up with features, mechanics, and items they believe would improve the gameplay. For example, a recent ARC Raiders petition on Reddit urged developer Embark Studios to make the in-game handcuffs a Quick Use item, allowing players to restrain enemies, as seen in games like DayZ. That idea is not alone, as another fan-made concept suggests an Augment that would keep a player’s Legendary Energy weapon safe, letting them focus on hunting down the ARC without worrying about losing a prized gun to hostile players. Now, the community has yet another suggestion for the developer, one that could have a major impact on the game’s PvP.

ARC Raiders Settings Change Could Give Unfair Advantage

ARC Raiders fans discover a game-changing setting that could potentially give an unfair advantage over other players.

ARC Raiders Players Want a ‘Carry’ Feature Added to the Game

Coming from the game’s active Reddit community, a new idea suggests adding a feature that lets players grab and move downed raiders in a firefighter-style carry. Discussing the concept, Redditor Zealousideal_You6845 said, “I feel like it would benefit friendly raiders who want to carry a downed player to an extract, and it would also allow funny and engaging interactions for non-friendly encounters.” The post has received strong support from other players, with some even suggesting it could be added to the skill tree, potentially replacing some of ARC Raiders‘ less popular abilities.

Currently, the only way to help a non-teammate downed raider is by using the ARC Raiders’ Defibrillator. Without this healing item, players are often forced to watch the painfully slow death of a fellow raider or, worse, put them out of their misery. With a firefighter-style carry feature, however, players could at least try to bring a precious citizen of Speranza to an extraction point.

Why the Firefighter’s Carry Feature Would Make Sense in ARC Raiders

The game already has mechanics and animations for situations where a player’s carry weight exceeds the limit. When a raider overloads their backpack with heavy items, they slow down and lose access to certain actions. Now, many believe that, in a game like ARC Raiders, those who want to play the hero should pay the price. Therefore, carrying a downed player could easily use these same systems, slowing the carrier and restricting movement, so the feature does not break gameplay balance.

The Downside of Adding a Carry Feature to the Game

There is no doubt that some players in ARC Raiders‘ PvP would use such a feature to disrespect their opponents. Currently, killing a downed enemy with a melee weapon is the equivalent of tea-bagging, serving as a taunt to show superiority. With the ability to carry downed enemies, new forms of taunting could emerge, such as throwing a helpless player off a cliff or carrying them around like a trophy. That said, ARC Raiders already includes a Surrender feature that lets downed players end the match at will, so these potential taunts may not be a major issue compared to the carry feature’s possible benefits.

While it is unclear whether Embark Studios will add new topside interactions between raiders, players remain hopeful about the future of PvP. The Swedish studio has openly discussed its long-term plans to support the game while continuing to expand both its gameplay and lore. ARC Raiders‘ 2025 roadmap wrapped up with the release of Cold Snap, alongside the Flickering Flames event and new quests. For now, fans will have to wait for the developer to reveal its 2026 plans to see whether it will consider community suggestions, including the firefighter’s carry idea that has become a hot topic among players.
