Farfetch’d Ambush is a Side Mission in Pokemon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension DLC, where players have to face off against three high-level Pokemon in a back-to-back fight with only one Pokemon of their own and without any opportunity to heal between matches.

The reward for completing this mission is the False Swipe TM, one of the most useful utility Technical Machines to make catching Pokemon with a low catch rate a lot easier. For trainers looking to obtain the False Swipe TM, here’s the breakdown.

Farfetch’d Ambush Walkthrough in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

Farfetch’d Ambush can be started by talking to Bouche, a Berry seller standing right next to the Jaune Pokemon Center, directly southeast of Wild Zone 19, in the eastern part of Lumiose City. Side Mission 133 unlocks after players have started the Mega Dimension DLC.

Bouche will tell you that there is a rumor going around that if you go down to Rouge Sector 7 at night with only a Leek-wielding Farfetch’d on your team, then fight anyone who attacks you. He will give you a free Leek in case you want to try it out.

The location in question can be found just south of Wild Zone 13, in the northern part of the city. Follow the quest marker to reach this location. To progress, you’ll need to make sure to meet the following conditions:

Only have a single
Farfetch’d
(or Galarian Farfetch’d) in your party.
Give your Farfetch’d a Leek to hold (found under Other Items in the Satchel).
Change the time of day to night.

Once all conditions are met, a cutscene will trigger where you will be attacked by the first of the three Farfetch’d trainers.

In this battle, players will be attacked by three Farfetch’d trainers in a back-to-back fight where they are only allowed to use a Farfetch’d of their own to win.

Bouche	Alpha Farfetch’d (Level 89)

Regular Farfetch’d is a Normol/Flying-type Pokemon, whereas the Galarian Farfetch’d is a pure Fighting-type. In battle, the regular Farfetch’d has a massive advantage over the Galarian form since its Flying-type STAB moves deal 2x damage. Since all three trainers players will have to fight in Side Mission 133 use a regular Farfetch’d as their Pokemon, using a Galarian Farfetch’d against them will put players at a severe disadvantage.

Aerial Ace can OHKO the first and second Farfetch’d if your Farfetch’d has good IVs/EVs and has the Adamant nature (use Adamant Mint if not). If the opposing Farfetch’d remain alive with a sliver of health, use Quick Attack to quickly finish them off before they have the chance to fire off their own moves.

In the third battle against the Alpha Farfetch’d, you may have to rely on Protect to tank one of its moves, if it doesn’t go down with both Aerial Ace and Quick Attack. Follow this up with Slash to secure the win.

If you’re not confident about timing it correctly, replace Protect with Gust to get another STAB move.

After successfully defeating all three Farfetch’d trainers in battle, you will receive the following rewards:

How to Get Farfetch’d in Pokemon Legends: Z-A

Farfetch’d can be found in 2-Star Hyperspace Wild Zones (Normal-type) in Pokemon Legends: Z-A Mega Dimension. Players can reroll all existing Hyperspace distortions in Lumiose City by resting at a bench. Look for a Farfetch’d-shaped silhouette in 2-Star Normal-type zones to find one.

Galarian Farfetch’d can only be found in 3-Star Hyperspace Wild Zones (Fighting-type) in a similar manner. It does not share the same habitat as the normal variants. However, as mentioned previously, it is not recommended that you use one for this mission.

Only a Galarian Farfetch’d or a regular Farfetch’d can be used to battle in Side Mission 133; Sirfetch’d does not qualify.

It takes roughly 100 Exp. Candy L to get a level 20 Farfetch’d to Level 100. You can easily farm for a ton of Exp. Candies in 3 and 4-Star Hyperspace Wild Zones by picking up items off the ground and breaking floating Poke Balls.
