How to Find the Faridun War Cache in Path of Exile 2
The Faridun War Cache is one of the many hidden chests in Path of Exile 2 that players can track down for rewards. This one is found in the game’s second act, and much like the other hidden caches, players can find this one by thoroughly investigating a specific area. For better or worse, there’s no secret to finding the Faridun War Cache, so if you want to find this secret loot stash in Path of Exile 2, you’ll need to do things the old-fashioned way.
Path of Exile 2: How to Find a Corrupted Nexus
Clearing a Corrupted Nexus is the only way to earn the first 30 Atlas points in Path of Exile 2. Here is where to find them.
Where to Find the Path of Exile 2 Faridun War Cache
You can get to the Faridun War Cache by looking for a small camp next to a checkpoint across a bridge in Mawdun Quarry. Since maps are randomized every time a new instance is loaded, pinpointing the exact location of this cache is impossible. However, to make the search easier, we recommend picking a wall and following it until you find something.
Just hug the edge of the map and keep following it. You’ll eventually run into the bridge leading to the small camp, and inside it, you’ll find the Faridun War Cache next to a tent. We do recommend killing as many enemies as possible here as they tend to drop materials like Blacksmith’s Whetstones and Armorer’s Scraps.
Keep in mind that you can use the Checkpoints scattered across the maps in PoE2 as fast travel beacons. Interact with one, and you’ll be able to teleport to any unlocked Waypoint or Checkpoint. You’ll likely encounter other Checkpoints while exploring the Mawdun Quarry, so you might as well use this feature if you end up running into a dead end.
Note that the Faridun War Cache is in the Mawdun Quarry, not the Mawdun Mine.
What’s in the Faridun War Cache?
When you open the chest, you’ll get a guaranteed Artificer’s Orb drop. This is one of the many currency/crafting items in Path of Exile 2. Different Currency items do different things, and Artificer’s Orbs let you add a socket into any Martial Weapon, Wand, Staff, or Armor.
Doing so will let you equip one of many the many Runes into your items, giving them different properties based on the type of Rune you equipped. This is a godsend for the early leveling/campaign phase of Path of Exile 2, as the right runes can supercharge your build with the damage and/or defense you need to beat increasingly-difficult enemies.
If you’re in desperate need of Artificer’s Orbs, you can purchase Socketed items from vendors and dismantle them at a Salvaging Bench. This will give you shards that will eventually turn into a complate Artificer’s Orb once you get 10 of them.
