Astra Malorum Easter Egg Walkthrough – CoD BO7

Here’s an easy step-by-step guide that will take you through the entire main easter egg quest for Astra Malorum in Black Ops 7 Zombies!

How to Start the Books Step in Astra Malorum

In order to reach the step necessary for the books puzzle in Astra Malorum, you must first have placed Dr. Thurston’s Brain into the Perfusion Machine within the Machina Astralis and interacted with it to connect it to the network. Afterwards, take a detour to the Observatory Dome and interact with the telescope device by the piano that’s opposite Pack-a-Punch.

You’ll now be stargazing, and you’ll need to align the telescope lens with Mars. Once your cursor is hovering over Mars, note the DEC numbers in the bottom left of the screen. With these numbers memorized, return to the Machina Astralis and input the numbers at a device found at the west railing on the same floor as the Mystery Box.

Now that you’ve activated the device in the Machina Astralis, return to Dr. Thurston’s Brain at the Perfusion Machine, and a terminal to the left will read through “Dr. Thurston’s Reading List”, which will flash through different book titles. Take note of the names of the books that appear, and then enter into the Archive of Orbis, where Stamin-Up is located.

Within the Archive of Orbis, there will be three unique walls, each with a set of bookshelves and a statue bust. Your goal here is simple: interact with the bookshelves on one side, note the number of book titles that appear on your reading list, and interact with the statue head for the same number of books on that specific wall. For instance, if the north wall has 2 books that are on your reading list, you’d interact with the north statue 2 times.

However, you’ll first need to know how many times you need to interact with each of the 3 statues, as you only have 15 seconds to interact with all 3 statues before the step locks and requires you to retry on the next round.

We’ve provided images of where you can find each statue, and what book every bookshelf has, so that you can determine the number of times you need to interact with each head:

Statue #1 – North Bookshelves

  • Ash and Bones
  • Echoes of Andromeda
  • The Unknowable Void

Statue #2 – South Bookshelves (Upper Floor)

  • The Musica Universalis
  • The Black Veil
  • The Moon Directive

Statue #3 – South Bookshelves (Lower Floor by Stamin-Up)

  • Pyramids of Cydonia
  • Silence at Singularity
  • Witchlight Codex

Once you’ve interacted with all three statues correctly, head to the west wall in the Archive of Orbis where you will find a ladder. You can climb the ladder, and a trap door has opened, allowing you to grab the Planet Neptune item that can be placed in the Machina Astralis.
