How Sims 4 Players Can Get SpongeBob Event Rewards Early
Sims 4 players have a convenient way to pick up all the rewards from the upcoming SpongeBob SquarePants-themed Live Event weeks ahead of their release. The Deck the Palms event in The Sims 4 will bring more than 20 objects, clothing items, and other rewards to the game over a nearly month-long run, but one dedicated fan has made sure players can grab them all immediately.
Originally released in 2014, The Sims 4 went free-to-play in October 2022, opening up one of the most-played life simulators of all time to a new audience. However, that free-to-play nature only applies to the base game. While there are currently more than 20 full expansions for The Sims 4, as well as numerous Stuff Packs and Creator Kits, the developers at Maxis periodically bump up regular players’ collections of furniture, fashions, and more through live events, which may be login-based or have special quests associated with them.

One such Sims 4 Live Event is planned to run from December 16 through January 13, with small bundles of two to three rewards at a time dropped across nine particular dates. However, players can dive into the game and grab everything right now thanks to modder LunarBritney, whose Deck the Palms Event Items Unlocked mod on Mod The Sims makes the game register the rewards as collected and the event as completed. While the Deck the Palms event hasn’t launched yet, the game’s official website classifies it as a log-in event, which means players who download the mod likely will not be missing out on participating in any special in-game missions with their Sims that would normally be required to unlock these special rewards.
While it’s definitely taking advantage of the holiday season, several of the rewards offered during the Deck the Palms event are centered around SpongeBob SquarePants, and they should provide nice accents to the SpongeBob’s House Kit and SpongeBob Kid’s Room Kit, which were released on December 2. One of the most exciting rewards offered during the event is the Krabby Patty Secret Recipe, a cooking recipe for The Sims 4 that will let players bring The Krusty Krab’s signature dish into their game worlds and is scheduled as a regular login reward for December 26. Players can also deck out their Sims in the Bikini Bottom Hoodie, which comes in 12 styles, including one pattern designed after SpongeBob’s iconic home, and multiple ones featuring images of SpongeBob, Gary, Patrick, Plankton, and Mr. Krabs. Those who own The Sims 4‘s Cats and Dogs expansion can also find SpongeBob-themed designs for their furry friends with the Creature Comforts Pet Hoodie. Additionally, an Undersea Phone adds to the furniture items already centered around the Nickelodeon mascot.
Even for those not interested in living in a pineapple under the sea, the event has plenty of winter-related rewards for players. These include numerous styles of Create-a-Sim items, which include Slightly Fuzzy Mittens, Slightly Fuzzy Mountain Boots, and the Holiday in Sulani Button Up. For both interior and exterior decorators, the event will bring two different Void Critter slides for child Sims to use, the Happy Home Mailbox, the Festive Fronds Palm Tree, and the Serious Business Ticket Machine for owners of the Businesses & Hobbies expansion. There is also a big new selection of magnets and a new Naturescapes Magnet Board to display them on.
The mod has already been downloaded more than 500 times, and it seems to be working, as multiple players have left messages thanking its creator for letting them bypass the login event and get the rewards immediately. However, while EA doesn’t discourage the use of mods in The Sims 4 and even lets players enable them through a menu option, the publisher still reserves the right to address mods that “infringe the intellectual property,” and fans should use caution when downloading any mods for the game.
