ARC Raiders Trick Makes Looting a Lot Faster
An ARC Raiders player has stumbled upon a handy tip that can make looting much quicker, but it does require one of the most lucrative items in the game: the Snap Hook. The player shared their trick with the ARC Raiders community and received tons of praise from others, as it seems to have gone undiscovered by many other players. However, it’s unclear whether developer Embark Studios intended this to be a gameplay feature, which means there’s always the chance it could be patched in a future update.
The trick in question also involves Field Crates, which often spawn around Field Depots on numerous different ARC Raiders maps, such as Dam Battlegrounds, Buried City, and more. The concept is simple, but it can often confuse newer players, as there is no explanation for the feature until one of the game’s quests. When players approach a Field Depot, they will be able to find a Field Crate in the surrounding area. This is a small silver container that can be picked up and carried to the closest Field Depot. From here, players can deposit the Crate into the container at the Depot for some loot. The only problem is, picking up the Crate not only makes players vulnerable to ARCs and other Raiders, but it also makes you walk much, much slower than usual.

ARC Raiders Player Shares Extremely Useful Looting Tip
If the distance between the discovered Field Crate and Depot is quite far, some players will completely ignore them due to how long it takes to carry them to their destination. However, one player has now shared a handy trick with the game’s community to make the process much quicker. As seen in the short clip below, Reddit user Xedos has made use of the Snap Hook item to latch onto the Crate and bring it towards them. It’s a simple but effective way to make what is usually a very tedious process much quicker, and fellow ARC Raiders players are loving it. “I know what I’m doing later today,” one player said, while another called it a “big brain” play.
This might be an incredibly useful trick, but it’s unfortunately not one that every player can make use of, as it requires the Snap Hook, one of the most valuable items in ARC Raiders. Thankfully, there are multiple ways that player can get their hands on this Legendary Quick Use item. The easiest way is to complete the Lost in Translation quests, as it is one of the rewards granted to players upon completion. The Snap Hook can also be looted naturally on any of the game’s maps or crafted by using 2 Power Rods, 3 Rope, and 1 Exodus Modules. However, it can only be crafted if a player obtains the Blueprint for the item, which can also be acquired by looting.
As an extraction shooter, looting is a massively important element of ARC Raiders, which is why tricks such as this are so important to make use of. Not only does it save massive amounts of time in the long run, but it also makes you less vulnerable to other Raiders and ARC enemies as you don’t have the risk of being caught holding a Field Crate. For those who might be unaware, ARC Raiders operates similarly to other extraction shooters, which means players will lose all of their gear and loot if they are eliminated during a Raid. This can be a massive setback, especially for newer players, so it’s no surprise that the community is discovering handy tricks like this every day.
ARC Raiders has been a massive success for Embark Studios, and the team intends to keep the ball rolling with another new content update later this month. While there’s currently no confirmed release date for the Cold Snap patch, the ARC Raiders 2025 roadmap has revealed that it will include a new Snowfall Map Condition, a new event known as Flickering Flames, the departure of the first Expedition (which is essentially a Wipe for those participating), a new Raider Deck, and new Quests.
