Stardew Valley Bug Makes Town NPCs Creepy After Midnight
A bizarre bug in Stardew Valley has made the citizens of Pelican Valley behave in a weird way after midnight. Since the townsfolk of Stardew Valley usually follow a set schedule, the sight of this bug has unnerved some fans.
Many Stardew Valley fans find the game to be relaxing, though as the years have gone by, updates have added more curiosities to the game. This includes spontaneous spooky sightings of a shadowy Bigfoot-like figure in the woods, or Stardew Valley‘s possessed mannequins that can move around on their own when players least expect it. However, this particular oddity doesn’t seem like it’s supposed to be happening.
After 105 Hours in Stardew Valley, I Think This is The Best Thing to do With Mayor Lewis’ Shorts
I’ve played Stardew Valley for over 105 hours, and I’ve found that this is the best thing to do with Mayor Lewis’ lucky purple shorts.
Stardew Valley Player Spooked by NPC Behavior
Over on Reddit, Stardew Valley player Sarlox_1 shared their experience of finding the villagers of Pelican Town acting very strangely after midnight, when most of them would ordinarily be in their homes. The (now removed) clip started with the player noticing that Clint was standing near the town bridge, staring into space. As they turned to head towards their farm, the Mayor suddenly appeared from the path leading to it. The player diverted again, only to find Robin and Pam wandering around in circles near the community center, before marching off directly up the cliffside. The player ran back the way they came, only to find that Clint was now standing stock-still next to a bush by the steps, and several villagers were lined up where the Mayor had been, with Pam dropping off the cliffside to join them.
Plenty of fans responded to the odd video, with many of them expressing how spooked they were by it. Most have been confused as to why this was happening. Some have joked that this behavior is something that the townsfolk always do after 2 am, when the player forcibly passes out every night. The OP has noted that this happened after the Stardew Valley Desert Festival, which does make some of the attending townfolk return to Stardew Valley extremely late. However, they’re supposed to just head to their homes, so it’s not clear why the pathfinding broke this badly.
While odd, this isn’t the first creepy bug in Stardew Valley, and this one shouldn’t have any real negative impact on gameplay. While it does create a memorable moment, some fans seem happy that it hasn’t happened to them, though, with some stating they’d probably uninstall the game if this had inexplicably occurred while they were playing their own copy of Stardew Valley.
