Precious Paths looks set to add a lot of exciting features for Pokemon GO players, including winterized appearances for Pokemon and a new batch of research tasks and rewards, but the return of the Master Ball may be the biggest surprise of all.

As revealed on the game’s official website, the Precious Paths season is set to kick off on December 2 at 10 AM local time. While there are plenty of features on the way, one of the biggest will be the opportunity to get a new Master Ball, which is easily the most powerful type of Poke Ball in Pokemon GO. Unlike most types of Poke Ball, however, this one won’t come for free, and players will need to pay $7.99 USD or the equivalent amount based on their region for the chance at unlocking one.

As in previous releases, making this purchase won’t instantly grant players a Master Ball. Instead, it will present them with a set of special Masterwork Research tasks that can unlock a Master Ball as a reward. Since the new season was just announced, there’s been no official information released regarding what these special research tasks will entail. If history is any indicator, those seeking to get their hands on a Master Ball should be prepared to catch hundreds of different Pokemon in a variety of different balls, along with completing research tasks involving hatching eggs and using berries.

In addition to putting a Master Ball up for grabs, Precious Paths has several other exciting features in store for players this winter. These include unleashing a new set of Special Research tasks and rewards, holiday-themed variants of Sudowoodo and Charjabug, the upcoming availability of Clobbopus and Grapploct, and the appearance of Gigantamax Meowth and Dynamax Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan in Pokemon GO Max Raid battles. Additionally, competitive players can enjoy the return of the GO Battle League, and collectors can get a new set of winter-themed stickers from spinning PokeStops, opening gifts, or from the in-game shop.
