Fortnite Item Has Been Missing in Action for Nearly 3 Years
A Fortnite item from a popular crossover has been absent from the in-game Item Shop for nearly three years, with fans unable to pick up the Pac-Man back bling. The widely-beloved battle royale has made crossovers one of its biggest attractions for many gamers throughout the years, with everything from video games and movies to musicians and popular streamers added as skins. Fortnite has even featured entire seasons centered around particularly big crossovers, like the ongoing mini-season based on The Simpsons. However, one crossover item has gotten the short end of the stick in recent years.
While not the biggest collaboration to ever hit Fortnite, Pac-Man has certainly been one of the most widely recognized franchises to grace the battle royale. Pac-Man has grown into one of gaming’s most iconic properties since its debut, first appearing in arcades in the early 1980s and becoming synonymous with gaming culture as a whole. Pac-Man received sequels, remakes, and spin-offs, even seeing a Fortnite crossover in early 2022, adding a unique back bling featuring the titular character and the franchise’s four main Ghosts. Now, the Pac-Man crossover cosmetic has received an unfortunate honor.

Fortnite Pac-Man Cosmetics Missing for Nearly Three Years
Fortnite‘s Pac-Man back bling recently passed a dubious honor, being absent from the in-game Item Shop for nearly three years. The Pac-Man back bling’s last appearance in the Fortnite Item Shop came in February of 2023, with February 28 being the last day the item was featured. The cosmetic has not made another reappearance for purchase within Fortnite to date, officially passing 1,000 days since the Pac-Man back bling was last available. Fortnite‘s Pac-Man back bling was first added to the battle royale less than a year prior, in June 2022.
The prolonged absence of the Pac-Man crossover cosmetic is far from the first time items have seemingly disappeared from the Item Shop. Fortnite‘s Reflex skin has been missing from the in-game shop for more than six years, passing 2,000 days last year since its first and only appearance in March 2019. Epic Games reviving older skins is not unheard of, with the developer bringing back the Diamond Diva pack earlier this month, which had not been featured in Fortnite‘s shop since Chapter 2 in 2021. Fortnite has not made any official statements about the Pac-Man crossover’s extended absence.
New crossovers have been a major focus throughout recent weeks as Fortnite wraps up its ongoing Simpsons-themed mini-season. The battle royale is set to kick off Chapter 7 next weekend, with a multitude of crossovers like Back to the Future and Blackpink’s Lisa said to be on the way. Leaks have also teased some major crossovers expected to arrive during the next chapter, with a SpongeBob SquarePants collaboration as one of the biggest rumors surrounding Chapter 7. Fortnite looks to be ramping up its releases with a brand-new Chapter on the way to close out November.
