March 17 is Going to Be a Super Busy Day for PS Plus Subscribers

By newsgame

The next big PlayStation Plus update is scheduled for Tuesday, March 17, with eight new games set to be added to the subscription service. PlayStation Plus subscribers are typically treated to two major updates every month. The first one comes on the first Tuesday of the month, while the second one comes in the middle of the month.

The PS Plus update that occurred on the first Tuesday of March added the latest PS Plus Essential games for subscribers to claim. The free PS Plus games for March 2026 are Monster Hunter Rise, PGA Tour 2K25, Slime Rancher 2, and The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: Gold Road. Monster Hunter Rise is a co-op hack-and-slash where players work together to take down dangerous beasts, and PGA Tour 2K25 is one of the more recent golf games on the market. Slime Rancher 2 is a cozy farm life sim where players take care of slime creatures, and The Elder Scrolls Online Collection: Gold Road gives players access to a huge amount of the content currently available in the MMORPG.

PS Plus Extra Game for March 2026 is Getting a Second Chance with Players

One of the PS Plus Extra games for March, LotR: Return to Moria, can showcase its improvement for subscribers once it is added.

The free PS Plus games for March 2026 are available right now for subscribers across all tiers. Soon, those signed up for the Extra and Premium tiers will be able to check out the games coming to the higher tiers of the service. On Tuesday, March 17, PS Plus Extra is getting an update that will add Astroneer, Blasphemous 2, Madden NFL 26, Metal Eden, Persona 5 Royal, The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 to the library.

Part of the reason why March 17’s new PS Plus games are going to make it a super busy day for subscribers is the sheer size of some of the games being added. Return to Moria is a survival game that can easily steal dozens of hours of your time, while it takes an average of 100+ hours to do a single playthrough of Persona 5 Royal. The addition of these games and the other titles coming as part of the Extra and Premium tiers of the service should ensure that PlayStation Plus subscribers are getting their money’s worth and then some with the March 2026 update.

The new games coming to the Extra and Premium tiers of PlayStation Plus ensure that March 17 is going to be a busy day for the service, but they’re not the only reason. March 17 is also when six games are leaving PS Plus Extra and Premium, and so subscribers may want to prioritize playing them while they still can.

PS Plus Games Leaving in March 2026

  • Circus Electrique
  • CrisTales
  • Mobile Suit Gundam Battle Operation: Code Fairy
  • Paradise Killer
  • Redout 2
  • TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge

Out of the six games leaving PS Plus in March 2026, the one I would personally prioritize over the others is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. A beat ’em up inspired by the classics, Shredder’s Revenge is a great game, and it’s sad to see it being removed from the PS Plus lineup.

When these games are removed from PS Plus on March 17, we should get an idea of the games that will be leaving in April. It doesn’t take long for the next wave of departures to pop up in the Leaving Soon section, so PlayStation Plus subscribers will want to keep an eye out and adjust their gaming plans accordingly in case anything they’re interested in is on the way out the door.
