How to Get Silk in Marathon
While playing the different maps and trying out the unique Runner shells in Marathon, players might notice a currency called Silk displayed in the top-left corner of the screen. Since it appears alongside other currencies, it is easy to assume it has an important role in progression. Silk is primarily used to unlock items from Marathon’s seasonal rewards pass. Whether you are using the standard track or the premium version, Silk is required to claim the rewards on each page.
The system works similarly to battle passes seen in games like Fortnite or the page-based reward system used in ARC Raiders. Instead of unlocking items strictly in order, players must first collect a certain number of rewards on one page before the next page becomes available.

How to Get Silk in Marathon
The main way to earn Silk in Marathon is by leveling up your account. Each time you gain a level, you receive 10 Silk, which is added to your total pool. The currency has a cap of 140 Silk, although the game includes an overflow section that stores any extra Silk gained through other sources.
Since there are no daily challenges or special quests that directly reward Silk, the most reliable strategy is to focus on earning as much XP as possible. Successfully extracting from a run grants a solid amount of experience, but the biggest gains usually come from Priority Contracts offered by the different factions.
Most Priority Contracts require you to complete specific objectives during a single run. If you manage to finish these objectives and extract safely, the XP rewards can add up quickly, allowing you to level up faster and earn more Silk.
If you are worried that other Runners might be around the extract you are going for, you can select the Thief class and use the Pickpocket Drone as a means to scout the whole area, giving you info if other players are in the area. This also lets you steal their highest quality loot if you can manage to tether the target.
Aside from leveling rewards, there is only one other way to obtain Silk. Players who purchase the Deluxe Upgrade receive 200 Silk along with access to the Premium Rewards Pass. However, this is a one-time bonus, meaning you will not receive additional Silk from this upgrade afterward.
