How to Pass Time in Pokemon Pokopia

By newsgame

As you work your way through the main questline in Pokemon Pokopia, you’ll find that certain buildings and requests will take a certain amount of time to complete. The first one of these you’ll likely come across is building your first hut/ house. When you get the Pokemon working on it, you’ll be informed that it’ll be done at a certain time. The problem is, this is based on real-time. That means you’ll normally have to wait for potentially hours before you can progress with a certain task. Fortunately, you can pass time in Pokemon Pokopia, if you’re willing to mess with your Nintendo Switch 2’s clock settings.

How to Pass Time in Pokemon Pokopia

To pass time, go to your Nintendo Switch 2’s menu and select the System Settings option from the bottom menu (it’s the little cog icon). From here, go to System > Date and Time, and turn off the ‘Synchronize Clock via Internet’ option.

You’ll now be able to set your Nintendo Switch 2’s internal clock manually. All you need to do to pass time in Pokemon Pokopia, then, is to change the time to a certain point in the future beyond the time that the game told you when your building or project would be complete.

Confirm the manual time and then return to the home screen and reload Pokemon Pokopia. Once you’re back in the game, the request or building should be complete, and you can continue with the main questline.

While the real-time waiting can be a bit of a pain when you’re desperate to progress in Pokopia, the good news is that you’ve often got so many other things you could be doing to help you pass the time. Whether that’s improving some of your other Pokemon’s comfort levels, exploring a new part of the world, gathering materials so you don’t have to waste time at a later date, building other homes, or trying to build some biomes you’ve yet to manage to do. The freedom to progress in Pokopia in your own way is part of what makes it such an enjoyable game.

Is There a Punishment for Time Traveling in Pokemon Pokopia?

The good news is that there’s no punishment for using this method to pass the time and accelerate your progress through the game. This makes a change from Animal Crossing: New Horizons, where any turnips you have purchased could rot, or you’d be greeted with the dreaded Resetti in earlier entries in the series.
