Hurricane Survival Tips & First Wave Raider Cache Locations in ARC Raiders

By newsgame

Strong winds rage Topside as the Hurricane map condition sweeps into ARC Raiders as part of the Shrouded Sky update. The Hurricane disrupts the usual raid flow and levels the playing field between veteran and beginner Raiders alike, since no one can fully predict what lies beyond its shroud. Whether it’s a hostile Raider or one of the new ARCs waiting in the chaos, preparation is key. Here are a few survival tips and the locations of exotic First Wave Raider Caches to help you make it out alive with valuable loot.

A Rising Tide in ARC Raiders will require players to first find a digital logbook in foreman’s apartment then locate clues in Controlled Access Zone.

Save Your Shields from Damage in Hurricane Map Condition

ARC Raiders Hurricane Shield Damage

The primary hazard of the Hurricane map condition in ARC Raiders is the strong winds that carry debris and objects. These winds will collide with your shield, causing it to spark. This sparking will not only give your position away to other raiders but also start chipping away at your shield’s HP and durability.

To avoid losing your shield’s health, you’ll need to remove it from your character when out in the open. You’ll be trading off protection for a sneakier way to travel in the open areas, and you won’t need to keep topping up your shield every time you take shelter.

This also means most PvP combat encounters in the open will have a higher TTK since they don’t have shields equipped. However, once you get indoors, you’ll need to quickly swap the shield back on and get your protection back.

To quickly swap the shield on your character in ARC Raiders, you can double-click on the shield in your inventory with a mouse. Similarly, you can highlight the shield in your inventory and press the “X” button on Xbox and the “Square” button on PlayStation controllers to quick-swap the shield on or off. This will help you avoid manually dragging your shield in and out of its slot.

While setting up your loadout for the Hurricane mode in ARC Raiders, it’s best to take a combination of close-range and medium-range weapons. Due to having the shield disabled, most of the players will be more prone to fighting indoors, resulting in increased close-quarter fights.

Learn the Flow of the Winds and Use Them to Your Advantage

ARC Raiders Hurricane Winds

The strong winds in Hurricane map conditions can either be your enemy or your ally. If you carefully observe the wind, you’ll start to notice how it flows in one direction at a time. Depending on whether you’re running in the direction of the wind or against it, your character will either get a movement speed boost or will be significantly slowed down.

This movement buff or slowdown will also affect your jumping, sliding, and dodge-rolling.

To make the most out of the Hurricane map condition, you can first observe the direction of the wind and check which locations fall in its trajectory. Now you can take advantage of the speed boost and sprint farther and faster to reach far-off locations.

Since the Hurricane map condition has a 2x loot value modifier, you’ll also find great quality stuff from even not-so-popular locations. So, you can simply head to a nearby location, instead of aiming to go far in these wild winds.

Don’t Sleep on First Wave Raider Caches in ARC Raiders Hurricane Event

ARC Raiders Hurricane First Wave Caches

The new First Wave Raider Caches come as part of the Hurricane map event and offer much higher loot quality compared to regular Raider Caches. These can be found scattered across the maps and emit a digital beeping sound compared to the usual ticks and whines of a regular cache.

While it’ll be hard for you to hear the sound of First Wave Raider Caches over the sound of raging winds, stumbling across them can be worth it, as these even have a chance to contain the most valuable blueprints in ARC Raiders, including the Tempest.

You can check out First Wave Raider Cache locations via GameRant’s interactive maps. The First Wave Raider Caches share the same spawn locations as regular Raider Caches, so it’ll help you easily track down these high-value loot containers amidst the Hurricane event in ARC Raiders.
