The Weapons You Should Sell & When To Sell Them

By newsgame

As you progress through Resident Evil Village, you will find yourself with an assortment of guns. These guns will fill up your inventory space and provide you with weapons you may not even use, especially as you find better alternatives throughout your looting.

As such, it’s a good idea to start selling weapons in Resident Evil Village, but only when the time is right. Below, you’ll find all the weapons we recommend selling, along with the why and when, so that you can continue to earn Lei and not waste it on pointless upgrades.

How to Get All Weapons in Resident Evil Village

How to Get All Weapons in Resident Evil Village

Here’s a chapter-by-chapter process to unlocking all weapons in Resident Evil Village so you can have a mighty arsenal of firepower to survive.

When Should You Sell the LEMI Handgun in Resident Evil Village?

After Castle Dimitrescu, When You Find the M1911 Pistol

The LEMI Handgun is the first gun you’ll get your hands on in Resident Evil Village, and it’s kindly gifted to you by an old man before he’s eaten by the lycans that you’re forced to defend yourself against. As the first weapon, it does come in handy, but quickly becomes an inferior piece of firepower.

Once you return to the Village after Castle Dimitrescu, you should immediately make your way to the Workshop in West Old Town, where, upon finding a locked cabinet, you can enter the combination code: 07-04-08 to get the M1911 Pistol. This Pistol is far superior in terms of damage and rate of fire, so holding onto the LEMI will be pointless and a waste of inventory space.

When Should You Sell the M1897 Shotgun in Resident Evil Village?

After House Beneviento, When You Find the W870 TAC Shotgun

You’ll acquire the M1897 Shotgun during your first trip to the Village, before meeting the old cackling woman who takes you to the Maiden of War statue. The M1897 Shotgun is a safe and assured bounty to navigate through the close-quarter corridors and hallways of Castle Dimitrescu, but it won’t be useful for long.

In the next chapter, after your second trip to the Village, you’ll enter House Beneviento. You won’t use a single gun throughout this entire chapter, and upon leaving, you can enter the Garden. In the south building in the Garden, you will find the W870 TAC, which is a far superior Shotgun that makes the M1897 Shotgun an immediate weapon to sell.

When Should You Sell the F2 Sniper Rifle in Resident Evil Village?

After Moreau’s Reservoir, When You Find the M1851 Wolfsbane Magnum

You’ll be able to get the F2 Rifle in the Attic area of Castle Dimitrescu, and this weapon can be really handy for enemies far away. The scope makes it essential for distant enemies, but that’s the very reason why, in later encounters, it can become useless, as many enemies will charge up-close, and the scope will make it harder to hit these nearer targets.

If you see no use for the Sniper Rifle, or you want more Lei, feel free to sell it after you escape Moreau’s Reservoir. After this chapter, you’ll have access to the Crank, which can be used to open Moreau’s Laboratory to get Moreau’s Hidden Weapon, which contains the M1851 Wolfsbane. This Magnum might not have the distance of a Sniper Rifle, but it has a far greater punch that you will want to upgrade.

When Should You Sell the W87 TAC Shotgun in Resident Evil Village?

During Heisenberg’s Factory, When You Purchase the SYG-12 Shotgun

While you initially should get rid of the M1897 Shotgun in favor of the W87 Tac Shotgun, the time will soon come when the W87 TAC deserves to be turned into scrap and extra Lei. Once you reach Heisenberg’s Factory and meet Duke, you will want to trade out the W87 TAC for his new wares, the SYG-12.

The SYG-12 is far more advanced in terms of firepower. The damage and rate of fire ensure that you have the best Shotgun in your hands, so you’re definitely going to want to use this one instead of the W87 TAC, which at this point will become a pointless waste of space in your inventory.

When Should You Sell the M1911 Pistol in Resident Evil Village?

During Heisenberg’s Factory, When You Purchase the V61 Custom Pistol

The M1911 will be your pistol of choice throughout the majority of Resident Evil Village. That is, until you reach Heisenberg’s Factory. Upon arriving at the elevator where you will find the Duke, you can purchase the V61 Custom, which is a vastly superior pistol in terms of damage, reload speed, and rate of fire.

It wouldn’t make much sense to keep on with the M1911, despite its cool appearance, as you can get a far superior pistol within the Heisenberg’s Factory chapter. Fully automatic and vastly stronger compared to the other two pistols, this is one to engage in combat with.

When Should You Sell the M1851 Wolfsbane Magnum in Resident Evil Village?

During New Game Plus, When You Purchase the S.T.A.K.E. Magnum

The M1851 Wolfsbane Magnum will be a dominating weapon when you obtain it, and it’s one that will easily kill all bosses that see the other end of the barrel. Its firepower and damage far exceed that of all other guns, and you’re going to want to invest heavily into it for the last few fights ahead. That is, until you complete the game. Upon entering New Game Plus, you will have access to a new weapon. While you will obtain new weapons from the Extra Contents Shop, there’s one that’s available to all without Challenge Points, and that’s the S.T.A.K.E. The S.T.A.K.E. is the far better Magnum that makes the M1851 Wolfsbane seem inferior in every way. As such, when you find Duke, you should purchase the S.T.A.K.E. and sell the Wolfsbane to invest in your forever Magnum.
