Nintendo Announces Treehouse Live Featuring Pokemon Pokopia and Super Mario Bros. Wonder

By newsgame

Nintendo has just announced a Treehouse Live presentation that’s set to air on February 24. This presentation will last around 80 minutes and will feature hands-on gameplay of both Pokemon Pokopia and the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition of Super Mario Bros. Wonder and its upcoming ‘Meetup in Bellabel Park’ DLC.

Formed in the 1990s, Nintendo’s Treehouse division primarily works on translations and localizations of first-party games for the Americas. During E3 2014, Nintendo Treehouse hosted a livestream event in which developers showcased some of the games that had just been announced via hands-on gameplay demos. Following the success of that 2014 event, Nintendo Treehouse has frequently hosted similar livestreams where upcoming games are given a deeper look.

The Nintendo GameCube is incredibly underrated, and its best games are timeless masterpieces that will always and forever be worth replaying.

New Nintendo Treehouse Live Event Announced for February 24, 2026

  • Airing February 24 at 2pm PT / 5pm ET

Announced during the September 2025 Nintendo Direct, Pokemon Pokopia is an upcoming life sim that blends the social elements of Animal Crossing with the crafting of Dragon Quest Builders. A month after its reveal, Pokemon Pokopia received an extended gameplay trailer, showcasing the game’s quest system, its photo mode, its GameShare functionality, and teasing the game’s vast roster of friendly Pokemon islanders. Quite a bit of Pokopia‘s general gameplay loop has already been revealed ahead of the game’s March 5 launch, but those looking to learn even more should tune into tomorrow’s Nintendo Treehouse Live event, which will likely show around 30–40 minutes of hands-on gameplay footage from Pokemon Pokopia.

Unveiled in the same Nintendo Direct as Pokemon Pokopia, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is getting a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition on March 26, 2026. Along with the visual and framerate improvements fans would expect from a Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, Super Mario Bros. Wonder‘s paid upgrade pack will include the Meetup at Bellabel Park DLC. This DLC adds a new location to the Flower Kingdom, one centered around both local and online multiplayer. A plethora of new co-op and versus multiplayer minigames will be added to Mario Bros. Wonder with this DLC, as well as a new power-up, new Wonder Form Koopaling bosses, and new playable characters. Fans can probably expect to see plenty of Mario Bros. Wonder multiplayer action in the upcoming Nintendo Treehouse Live presentation.

What’s Next for Nintendo?

While tomorrow’s Nintendo Treehouse Live event is sure to be a great look at two highly anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 exclusives, it may not be the presentation that some fans were hoping to see this week. Nintendo has hosted three separate Directs this year already, but none of them have been a full-length Direct focused on first-party Nintendo announcements and updates. Instead, the first Nintendo Direct of the year focused on the Super Mario Galaxy Movie, the second revolved around Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, and the most recent was a Partner Showcase that centered around Nintendo’s third-party collaborators. Given that the Nintendo Switch 2 is coming up on its first birthday, many fans are hoping to see a fully-fledged Nintendo Direct sometime soon, one that reveals what’s coming to the still new console in the rest of 2026.

But while it might be some time before the next Nintendo Direct airs, Pokemon fans don’t have long to wait for their own showcase. On February 27, 2026, the Pokemon franchise turns 30 years old, and to celebrate the occasion, The Pokemon Company is airing another one of its annual Pokemon Presents livestreams. While the exact contents of the 25-minute-long Pokemon Presents showcase haven’t been officially revealed just yet, recent leaks suggest that the Pokemon Generation 10 games will be revealed at the very least.
