Steam has a new co-op extraction shooter called Far Far West that’s quickly attracting thousands of fans, and its demo currently holds an overwhelmingly positive average review score. The studio behind Far Far West is Evil Raptor, best known for Pumpkin Jack, a 2020 3D platformer with Very Positive reviews on Steam. In Far Far West, players step into the role of a robot cowboy in a retro-futuristic Western town. Their main mission is to hunt bounties, ancient, vicious skeleton creatures roaming the surrounding lands. The game can be played solo or with up to three other players in co-op, with each match following three basic rules: complete an objective, defeat a boss enemy, and extract safely. The gameplay stays engaging thanks to progressively stronger enemies, bigger boss fights, and new unlockables to pursue.

A key objective in the current demo is finding weapon blueprints and upgrading various stats. Players can also unlock magic spells with elemental effects that can be combined for devastating results. For example, casting an acid spell followed by a fireball can trigger massive explosions capable of taking down even the largest foes.

Similar to many other extraction shooter games, after each mission in Far Far West, players return to town to spend the currencies earned during combat: souls and gold. These can be used to buy new weapons, skins, emotes, and more powerful guns to prepare for the next bounty-hunting run.
