Gel Cleaning Station Turbine Puzzle Solution
In Poppy Playtime Chapter 5, you will eventually reach a part of the Engineering Wing called the Gel Cleaning Station. As soon as you walk in, you will see a large wind turbine and three large red shapes on a screen. However, the three shapes shown will differ for each Poppy Playtime player, so we cannot give you the solution that easily. We can show you how to solve your puzzle, though!
There’s also a secret room you can access that’s underneath the staircase you came in from, so make sure to jump to the bottom of the guide before going through the turbine to find a super hidden gold collectible trophy!

What Do the Shapes Mean?
Once you take note of the three shapes in order from left to right, you’ll want to use your black light to find the corresponding shapes near the various switches by the turbine. Go ahead and pull the three switches; you will hear a ping once you’ve done it correctly. The spinning pole connected to the turbine will stop moving, and you can continue to the next part of the room’s “puzzle.”
Next, if you’re facing the turbine, head over to the right side of the room and look up to find a platform with magnetic panels on it.
You’ll want to grab the panel’s handle and pull it towards you. Once you get it close to the walkway, pull yourself up to it and hop off to reach the upper level of the Gel Cleaning Station.
To unlock a secret room (and collectible) in this area, jump on the walkway on the opposite side of the main turbine switches to find a circular valve you can turn next to a locked yellow door. This will freeze the gel beneath the staircase you entered the station from, allowing you to break it with your pressurized glove. More on that later!
Next, stand on the main center platform, facing the turbine tunnel. You will see a green switch on the left and another on the right. The one on the right will control the first part of the turbine, and the one on the left will control the second “door.“
You’ll want to use the pressure hand on the right first, then the left, so you can get a clear shot at the magnetic panel at the back of the tunnel to launch yourself forward.
If you end up missing and falling in the middle of the turbine, don’t worry -there’s a side door you can enter inside to escape and return to the Gel Cleaning Station so you can try again. However, if you want to find the very missable Golden Chum collectible, don’t leave the room yet!

Secret Room Puzzle Guide
Remember that valve we twisted earlier on the upper walkway? Well, now we can smash the goo in the corner of the room to access a hidden room. The puzzle inside isn’t super straightforward, so here’s what you need to do to complete it and snag the Golden Chum collectible.
- Use the magnet strip on the ceiling to pull yourself to the higher level.
- Push the small storage box off the top floor and move it to the bottom level so you can jump over the pipes.
- For the machine on the lower level, hit the green switch and then immediately pull the lever before the liquid passes the red line.
- Go upstairs and do the same thing for the other machine, but wait to pull the lever until the liquid passes between the two green solid lines.
- You can now twist the red valve upstairs, and it’ll freeze the goo on the lower level. Now, you can break it with your pressurized hand.
- Before you climb up the magnetic wall behind the smashed goo, you’ll find a small red button that will open a door upstairs. Stand in front of the magnetic wall, and launch a hand at the switch to give yourself more time.
- Now, climb up the wall, turn around, and then launch yourself at the opposite magnetic panel to reach the walkway.
- Run through the door and then drop down to find the Golden Chum collectible.
Next up, you’ll have to complete a power puzzle in the Engineering Bay and find three memories before going into Reanimation.
