New Horror Game With Silent Hill Composer Shadow Dropped on Xbox Game Pass

By newsgame

Total Chaos, a new horror game from Trigger Happy Interactive featuring Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka has just been shadow dropped on Xbox Game Pass. Total Chaos was shadow dropped during the November Xbox Partner Preview, a 30-minute showcase that contained new Xbox Game Pass reveals, trailers for Tides of Annihilation, 007 First Light, and Reanimal, and brand new game announcements such as Vampire Crawlers, a roguelite deck builder coming from Vampire Survivors developer Poncle, and Zoopunk, a game set in the same universe as 2021’s F.I.S.T.: Forged In Shadow Torch.

Beginning life as a total conversion mod for Doom 2, Total Chaos has since become a fully reimagined, standalone, modern experience releasing for current-gen hardware. Before Total Chaos, developer Trigger Happy Interactive was best known for Turbo Overkill, a critically acclaimed neon-soaked FPS released in 2023, inspired by Nuke Nukem 3D and other classic shooters of the 1990s.

Total Chaos Is Available to Play Now on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate

As of November 20, 2025, Total Chaos is available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox Cloud, and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Total Chaos‘ shadow drop announcement came alongside a new gameplay trailer showcasing the horrors that await players. Set over nine chapters, Total Chaos will see players facing off against an array of “shambling horrors” and “inhuman abominations” in a first-person survival horror experience that features a deep inventory management system, weapon crafting, and both melee and ranged combat.

A major selling point of Total Chaos highlighted in its Xbox Partner Preview trailer is that it features original music by Akira Yamaoka, a renowned Japanese composer known primarily for his work on the Silent Hill franchise. Akira Yamaoka is joined by composers Jason Dagenet & William Braddell, and Apogee’s Tim Stoney, Chipper Hammond, and Mathieu Halloui, who work together to produce Total Chaos‘ haunting soundtrack.

Those who purchase Total Chaos on Steam will also be able to enjoy the game in virtual reality when support for SteamVR is added in Q2 2026.
