Overwatch 2 Brings Back Transformers Collab, But There’s a Catch
Overwatch 2 officially begins a rerun of the Transformers collaboration, but there is some fine print that players should be aware of.
All Vendetta Abilities and Perks in Overwatch 2
Now, Overwatch 2 has revealed how the new hero actually plays in the game. Vendetta storms the battlefield in her gameplay trailer with Palatine Fang, a hard-light blade that strikes in a combo ending with a devastating overhead slash. Her alternative fire allows her to block frontal damage and deflect melee attacks, consuming energy in the process – and while blocking, she can instead consume energy to launch a Projected Edge projectile. Her other two abilities give her excellent mobility, with Whirlwind Dash sending her forward in a devastating area strike, and Soaring Slice letting her fly towards her thrown sword. Finally, her Ultimate, Sundering Blade, pierces through most defenses in a narrow line that does heavy damage to foes.

Weapon
- Palatine Fang: Hard-light greatsword. Combo swings to end with a destructive overhead slash.
- Warding Stance: Block with your sword, reducing frontal damage and delfecting melee attacks. Blocking damage depletes energy.
-
Abilities
- Soaring Slice: Hurl your sword in the direction you are facing and then fly to it.
- Whirlwind Dash: Rush forward into a circular slash.
- Projected Edge: Available while Warding Stance is active. Consume energy to fire a wide projectile.
-

- Onslaught: Strike enemies to increase movement and attack speed.
-
Ultimate
- Sundering Blade: Cleave through most defenses, dealing severe damage to enemies in front of you.

Perks
-
Minor
- Siphoning Strike: Overhead strike gains 30% Lifesteal.
- Relentless: Onslaught can stack 3 more times, increasing attack speed by 5% and movement speed by 4% per stack.
-
Major
- Swift Vengeance: Last player to land a killing blow on you becomes a target. Eliminate the target to gain 125 overhealth and reset cooldowns.
- Raging Storm: Whirlwind Dash continues to spin, hitting 3 more times for 40 damage in a wide area.
-
Minor
As for the new hero’s Perks in Overwatch 2, Vendetta’s Minor Perks give her final slash with Palatine Fang Lifesteal, or allow her Onslaught passive to stack more times when striking enemies to further increase her movement and attack speed. Meanwhile, her Major Perks either let her Whirlwind Dash swing three more times, or mark the enemy who killed her last as a target for Swift Vengeance, granting her overhealth and a cooldown reset when she gets revenge.
All in all, Vendetta seems like she will play like a mixture between Doomfist and Reinhardt. Her Warding Stance and high mobility are both reminiscent of Doomfist’s abilities, while her melee attacks and Projected Edge will lend themselves well to players familiar with Reinhardt’s playstyle. Her Onslaught passive, which was conferred to characters who donned her secret mask in Overwatch 2’s Haunted Masquerade mode, and Sundering Blade are also very similar to Fallen Knight Reinhardt’s abilities from the Mirrorwatch game mode.
This new hero officially arrives in Overwatch 2 during Season 20 on December 9, but fans can try Vendetta ahead of time. The Hero Trial for Vendetta runs from November 26 through December 1, and is extra long to accommodate for Thanksgiving, so players will have additional time to see how La Lupa will change the game.
