A good number of side quests or myths in Nioh 3 can be accepted from the different spirits. These spirits have requests for the player and cannot leave until the request is completed. Since exploration level marks almost all of these side quests on the map, tracking them is made easier.

While exploring Awawa no Tsuji, towards the southeastern exit, you will find the spirit of an Onmyo mage who wants the player to offer aid in place of the mages. The guide below offers a walkthrough for the Shadows on the Capital myth and its rewards in Nioh 3.

Shadows on the Capital Myth in Nioh 3

After accepting the quest from the spirit, fast travel to the Tacchi Gate Shrine, and start making your way north following the same path you take when clearing the Lesser Crucible of this area. As you approach your objective, you will find yourself in an area full of Yokai creatures, and the area is an enemy base.

There are six enemies in the Dark Realm that you have to defeat. As all are annihilated by the Yokai, the spirit will appear and tell you to visit Kamo Village.

Before leaving for Kamo Village, if you haven’t already activated the Frozen Ghost Town Shrine in Funaokayama and found the Sudama there, then follow these simple steps:

While facing the Shrine up on the hill, head towards the area on the left.
Drop down into the narrow gap that has a corpse and a few wooden boxes at the end.
Break the boxes and crouch through to reach the other side.
Take a right to reach the Shrine.

Be sure to exchange the Smithing Texts from the Sudama here, but you will need Yokai Teardrops for the exchange.

Now, you can head west of the enemy base, and when you reach the Shrine, head north, climbing the boxes to jump over to the other side. Follow the path east, going up to the Temple, where you will find a few Onmyo Mages and a One-Eyed Oni. Defeat them to complete the quest and get Ninja’s Locks and Divination Board.
