How to Get Luminwing Butterfly in Starsand Island
Luminwing Butterflies are located in the Dreamfall Garden area of the Moonlit Forest in Starsand Island, but only between the hours of 6am and 6pm, and only on Sunny or Snowy days. That said, we did catch a few Luminwing Butterflies on a rainy day, so maybe the weather conditions aren’t as strict as in similar games. Luminwing Butterflies are also available across all four seasons: Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter.
You can get to Dreamfall Garden by finding all Gate of Life Gravemite locations in the Moonlit Forest. This opens the locked Gate of Life door. Once through the door, cross the river and make your way towards the Moondew Shrooms at the back, as this is where Luminwing Butterflies like to spawn.
Now all you have to do is equip a net, sneak up to the Luminwing Butterflies, then swing your net to catch them. Make sure you’re sneaking slowly, or else they might fly away. You can toggle CTRL on PC to do this.
What is Luminwing Butterfly Used For?
You need to catch five Luminwing Butterfly to repair the Luminpath in the Dreamfall Garden area of the Moonlit Forest, which leads deeper into the forest, to the Crystalith Hideout.
Once you’ve caught five Luminwing Butterflies with your net from Dreamfall Garden, submit them at the Luminpath console past the door that you need to hit with an improved pickaxe, then follow the blue bridge that appears up and into the Crystalith Hideout.
Beware, there’s a boss waiting for you at Crystalith Hideout, so make sure you’ve brought some ranged weapons.
