In this snipper from Podcast Beyond 904, A new live-action feature film based on the Street Fighter series is on track for a release in 2026, and new challengers have appeared in the form of casting announcements. To name a few, Jason Mamoa is Blanka, Roman Reigns is Akuma, David Dastmalchian is M. Bison, and 50 Cent is Balrog. It’s completely all over the place, and considering director Kitao Sakurai’s background is in comedy like The Eric Andre Show and Bad Trip, we’re thinking maybe it’s not going to take itself totally seriously? The more we think about this movie, the more excited we are, so here’s hoping that – if nothing else – it’s not boring.
