Spider-Man: Brand New Day has officially begun shooting, and star Tom Holland has now shared photos of himself in costume riding atop a tank.
Production on Holland’s fourth solo outing as the fan-favourite web slinger is underway now in Glasgow, Scotland, with a section of the city currently being used for outside shots featuring the actor and some heavy military gear.
After our first look at Holland’s new Spidey suit last week, the star has now posted images of himself in costume attached to a harness, riding on top of a giant armored vehicle.
Holland’s own images come from his Instagram, in a post with the description “Spider-Man Brand New Day 1.” That’s a pretty cool way to kick off filming, but, of course, this is all happening out in public — so there’s fan-filmed video of the actor atop the tank to watch now as well.
Beware a bit of light Scottish cussing in the clip from TikTok user jamieg1510 below, as a fan spots the action and exclaims: “It’s f***ing Spider-Man!” Indeed.

Set for release on July 31, 2026, Brand New Day will mark the triumphant return of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man, following the emotional conclusion of 2021’s No Way Home. After bidding farewell to his fellow Spider bros, Holland is forced to make love interest MK (Holland’s real-life partner Zendaya) and best friend Ned (Jacob Batalon) forget his existence in order to ensure their safety.
Brand New Day opens with something of a clean slate, then, and includes a fresh cast of co-stars — though Zendaya and Batalon are expected to appear in more minor roles. Stranger Things’ Sadie Sink will play a key, unannounced character, while Jon Bernthal will appear as his recurring MCU character Frank Castle / The Punisher.
Last week, a report stated that Mark Ruffalo’s The Hulk and Michael Mando’s Scorpion are also in the film, while close-up views of the film’s armored vehicle — which looks to be the same one Holland is riding above — feature a spoilery logo, something that may point to the true villain of the film.
Spider-Man and The Hulk are two of the biggest Marvel characters currently not announced for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday, which is also currently shooting, though down at London’s Pinewood Studios. Jon Bernthal, meanwhile, is still filming his Punisher TV special over in New York. All three MCU projects are currently set to land next year.
