Superman is still flying high at the global box office, but its international numbers seem softer than expected. Despite pulling in $400 million so far, the film is underperforming outside of the U.S., and director James Gunn thinks part of it is lack of brand awareness, and real-world political strife. According to Gunn, Superman is just not as recognizable in some parts of the world as, say, Batman. And geopolitical events in certain global hotspots have raised anti-American sentiment, which could be hurting box office numbers. Still, the movie the number one film in the world going on two weeks, and has received near-universal praise from critics and fans. Plus, Kevin Feige gave an update on the current status of the Marvel Cinematic Universe ahead of the release of the highly-anticipated Fantastic Four: First Steps.
